Phase II Project WW has now entered it's second phase. The aim of this phase is to introduce children to video conferencing and to use this as a means not just to communicate between the two schools; but also to share resources. In our first project session back in December 2002, we held our first video conference link between our two schools (Oakington Manor and St Mary Magdalen's). It was really exciting and the children had an extra treat when Father Christmas paid a visit to 5GP. He has a few brief words to say to all the children. Since the start of the new Year our two schools have held many video conferencing sessions to get our children used to talking in front of a camera. Our most recent conference (13th March) we shared information about the history of our two schools. Children did their own research, made notes beforehand and then chosen children read the information the had researched. We did this so as we could look at similarities and differences between the two schools.... and there were many. In our next video conference link we hope to discuss the similarities and differences and suggest possible reasons for this.
